This is just a quick little post about my new love :: Abby. My wonderful and long time greatest friend Jen and her amazing hubby Drew had their first baby on Sat July 31st at 2:22pm (after a very long labor!!! High five Jen!) The are some of my favorite people in this world and they are going to make incredible parents! It was my joy to go visit and meet the Miss. Abby when she was less then a day old!

This is the ever on time and fab Abigail Elise Bryson coming in at 7 lbs 9 oz.

Seriously.... CUTES BABY EVER!!

I know my opinion is a TAD swayed ;) but really I can't wait to take more photos of her (besides these cute camera phone shots and pics taken off online seen here) and prove even more that she's a gem!

It truly is amazing how you can fall in love with something/one so fast, realize they are now in your life and this world forever, and trust that God will give the people in her life the right tools/words/patience/love to help her grow into the women He wants her to be.

It's humbling to know you might play a part in that joy.

Congrats Jen and Drew! Love you guys and I'm so so so happy for you! Abigail is a lucky girl for sure!

New Job and a bit of WPPI Lovin

Hello and happy day friends!

I, like so many other great photog peeps, have a day job :)

My day job rocks!

I work for an awesome little lens/computer bag company called Shootsac. Its a bag that I use ALL the time and love love love! I've been a part of the team off and on the past year.. helping out with certain events and trade shows.... then one day Matt (my super tall, funny and all around bomb boss) asked me to join the team and help lead them to the promise land.... j/k. But he did offer me the fab position as boutique manager and I hopped on that!

So these days you can find me in a cute little boutique off Main street in Santa Ana, Ca (across from the Main Place Mall for all you locals). I love to decorate it and make it feel welcoming so please come by and feel welcomed sometime! :) We sell all the products in the boutique AND even some that you can't find anywhere else!

Jessica Claire is one of the owners of the company and she's also and amazing photographer! She came into the shop last week for a mini photo shoot and this is some of the magic we made happen....

p.s. I don't normally wear all pink and high heals to wk... it was just one of those days that I felt like gettin all dolled up and then Jess just happen to come by and I just happen to be ready to get my photo on.... ;)

She told me I looked like the Shootsac Barbie. I'm good with that. This Barbie defiantly has her curves anatomically correct... just saying... there are no recalls here, lol :)

So is the time of year when we are working hard to get ready for good things! This weekend and some of the week days we've been making magic happen at a local trade show. I looooove me some trade show action because we're able to meet a ton of great people and we get to share the Shootsac/Hip Slip love!! It makes me happy to invite others into the Shootsac family :) Next trade show is the one and only WPPI which is running up on us!! In less then 2 weeks we will be ready to rock the Shootsac lovin in Vegas and introduce these lovely covers for all to buy::

Trust me... they are as good looking in person as in this picture!!! Also there will be a big sale at the show and online during that time... so be excited!! :)

Anyways, in conclusion, I have a day job with a company I love, respect and adore and I work with good people who make me a better person. I work 9-5:30 Mon-Fri. Feel free to come by the boutique and say hi or set up an Chipotle date! yum :)

A Proposal:: Katy*Stetson :: The Slideshow

I've known Stetson since my senior year of college when we were R.A.'s together back in.... :) and he's an amazing guy!

Stetson called up one day and said, " I have a girlfriend!"

My response, "So no more Laquisha?" (inside joke!) ;)

Anyways, insert Katy. I met Katy through Stetson after he took her off the market and brought her over to show off during our weekly group "catch up on the shows we taped" hang out... and its there that me and my friends learned how super sweet and perfect she was for Stetz!!

I couldn't tell you if we watched The Office, American Gladiators, or America's Best Dance Crew but I can tell you that Stetson and Katy couldn't keep their hands off each other and it was adorable. There's nothing better then to see your friends fall in love.

Last night on January 18th, 2010... Stetson asked Katy to marry him and be his forever.

The room was dark but the "love glow" was about and it made everything perfect.

Stetz:: It. was. perfect. :)

Sooo... I've been feeding way to many tastes with out serving the meal!! That was so 2009! Its all ganna change this year friends! I've been laying out an effective plan that involves goldfish crackers, diet coke, pretty photos, and blogging! That should get the job done I figure! :)

My friend Jamie Lawler and I have made a pact with each other to blog at least once a week for the year! (we totally spit on our hands and shook while crossing our hearts and latching our pinkies and promising... riiiiiiight) :)

Anyways friends, please feel free to hold me to it as the weeks carry on and more photos are to be had and life stories are to be told!

In the mean time... I'm here now to serve you a taste that WILL be followed by the entire meal super soon because I made a pact! and I just really really really loved this couple and the whole shoot! We went to Old Town San Juan Capistrano and shot it up on this beautiful afternoon.

Oh my goodness this wedding was such a party! Starting with getting ready to a traditional Zapa with the fam to the "I do's" to photo time to Zapa #2 to the full on celebration party!! Whew! So fun!

Quack Attack!! :: THE DUCKS

Kinda late but never toooooo late to tell you about my new love of the Anaheim Ducks !! I've become a fan this past 1.5ish years. I say this is kinda a late blerb because the Ducks are in the 7th game of the 2nd series of the 2008-2009 Playoffs!! (which means that it's pretty much the end of the hockey year AND the end of the series AND if things don't go well at the game tonight... it could be the end of the season.. but we shall see. Know that I believe! They will win using the flying V method ) :) Sorry for not expressing my love for this great game sooner.. but know this...

I now understand and appreciate most if not all of the game of hockey! I used to not understand what was what or why those testosterone driven men who run on frozen water decided to solve their problems through fights and choice words... but now I'm one of those people on my feet cheering as Perros does his thang on the ice (he's the enforcer... I know what an enforcer is!!!!!!) :) Although I will say that I am still wanting to find this hockey dictionary that has all the hockey lingo and ish to really know the game.... random I know but I cant be a true hockey fan unless I know.... the legal max curvature of the bottom of the boys stick things. ;)

I love watching a great hockey game with good friends and eating good food. (Thanks to the wonderful Rinner Family for all the great ice adventures on and off the tv) I truly enjoy the entire game and use it as a reason for calling up peoples and getting together to yell at the tv or laugh at each other as we hide our faces and cover our ears from the nasty mountain dew bug splattering commercial (that they finally stopped airing by the way! yuck) This stinkin great game of battin a puck around the ice and slamming into one another so as to interfere with someone's puck batting abilities brings a competitive side out in me that I havent tuned in with since my football days... after watching a game I just want to tackle someone... but I dont. :) Instead I go ... hug my roomies and thank God that I still have all my teeth.

Here's the thing that should get me the coolest fan award...

the ladies at the nail place thought I was crazy and it took about a half hour just to get everyone on the same page of the idea of putting this silly letter on my toes, but it was worth it and it they did a great job! I'm not obsessed... I PROMISE! :)

New Friend::Kristen Leigh... 1

So last week I had the fun opportunity to meet up with Miss.Kristen Leigh... a fellow photo diva who is out visiting Cali for a month from the beautiful east coast. I found her through the art of blogstalking ... who doesn't do it right! ;) ... and that's how I learned what a great and wonderful a photographer she is and how she has a large family that are super cute!! Having dinner with her was so encouraging and I loved every min of it! Wen talked about our photo life stories and how we are where we are. We talked over our faith, we talked guys, we talked passion and we talked ways to make things happen and what is to come... not to forget we talked WPPI and how much we are going to LOVE being there!

Kristen is staying up in Santa Clarita area and took the time to drive to meet in the beautiful city of Pasadena. We went to my favorite restaurants CHIPOTLE!! .... that, by the way, I love sharing with others so anytime peeps want to meet up at one.. I'm totally there!---side note: I don't normally eat Chipotle without someone there to share it with, unless it's just one of those really bad days and it's the only thing that can show a spec of blue in my sky..... I love it so much that I feel that I need to go with someone else or others so that the love can be shared and spread! (p.s. i think they need to start paying me for all the plugs..lol) side not over---Anyways.. back to my wonderful friend date with Kristen in Pasadena at Chipotle... After dinner and chatting up life, we busted out a camera and went to town! Seriously... how can photographers get together and not take any pics?! Seriously! :)

She was so excited to meet me :)

After Chipotles we headed down the road and to the left until we found some fun lights. As we were leaving my car I found what we shall call "our prop for the night". Bubbles! Needless to say... we took a lot of pics and had a great time!

we did more then play with bubbles.. come on now.. we know how to have fun! :)

so recently I've been training for a new job that i just got so my life as a photographer has been put on hold... I know some of you can totally feel my pain (of a full time gig and time for your passion!). I've been trying to balance it all out but I'm still wking of it!

Right now actually I"m writing to you from the desk of Mrs.Brooke Turner of South Carolina! I'm here helping shoot a wedding of a beautiful bride at a Plantation in Charleston, SC. I met her through OSP and its been a wonderful thing since!! I just met her tonight as i got into the Charlotte,NC baggage claim and we totally hit it off!! We went to a place called Moe's for dinner and chatted the night up!! She is absolutely wonderful and such a great hostess! I'm excited for the rest of our weekend together!

Oh!! and on top of meeting and seeing my new friend I get to catch up with and old friend from college who now lives in Wilmington, NC and is coming to hang out Sunday!! I'm so excited!! Then Monday we head up to North Carolina for another shoot then hang out all day till I have to come home.... :(

Can I please state.... I LOVE THE SOUTH!! :)

Good people. Good food. Pretty trees. and Southern gents with accents!! ;)

Heaven just got a little closer!

This past Friday one of the greatest things happend ..... heaven just got a little closer!!

There is a new Chipotle in town!!!

Chipotle is the love of my life and I LOVE sharing it's bliss with others!! Since now,my friends and I have traveled over 20ish min. to get to the nearest piece of heaven and it was ALWAYS worth it!! But now it's no more then 5 min from our house! Bring on the future happy times and food dates!! I'm so happy!!

We met this way sweet girl who was waiting in line with her family in front of us.Her name was Brittany and someday she's ganna be a superstar...

If you've never been to Chipotle, aka "heaven" here"s how it goes... Mr. Garcia here asks you.."welcome to chipotle... what would you like?"

I say... "three soft tacos please... for here (they'll ask you)"

Then he does this cool little trick...

not really.. we asked him to for pictures sake! lol :)

Then they ask what kind of meat (they'd ask about the beans normally but i don't get the burrito)

and I say... steak please!!! and you move on down the line...

they ask you about all the little extras... salsa, lettice, ect. but i like mine with just cheese.

Then BAAM! It's ready and your salvating mouth can now conqure it's quest!
(well you actually have to pay first and that's where you invest into the amazing chips that have a hint of lime jazz on them)

Then you thank the Lord for the grub and for getting you through the rediculous line that you can now enjoy the reward of getting through. Amen! :)

if you ever want to schedule a Chipotle date... I'm totally down!

Nicsta:: senior bliss

Last week i got to shoot my wonderful friend Nicole's senior pics..

Now she's no high school senior and you should smack your wrist if you thought that! (in a nice way though.. she'll forgive you! :) ) She is a really smart and huge hearted ganna be a college grad in May person! Nicole is studying to work for the Jesus! :) She's an intercultural studies major @ biola university... it's where we met! Let me tell you the story....

Once upon a time....
There was a feisty ferocious fan-freakin-tastic cuban chica that signed up to change the world.... starting with her peeps on her campus. In the same moments there was spunky sporty special blondie from lower campus thinking the same thing. So becoming an RA (residents assistant) was what they did! Not knowing each other or even that they existed in the world let alone the campus.. they went through the invigorating process ;) and were chosen to REPRESENT (whoot whoot) res life. We met our staff and through lots of prayer and thought... our boss placed Nicole and I together and that's when the wetting the pants really began!! ;) lol

It's been a huge privilege working, knowing and having her as a friend and i'm so proud of her! She is defiantly a light in my life and I'm excited for her to go teach some English in China!!

Here's the thing... I'm not one of those people that keep a journal or diary. I do appreciate the idea of them and their purpose but i haven't been that person.

Keeping up on a DAILY blog is a challenge for me in many ways (which it probably is for many people, who really does things on a daily basis besides use the bathroom and drink a diet coke! ;) )

Easter pics... part one! ++early afternoon...++

Easter morning my mom and I went on a search for a field of flowers! On our venture her huge Ford Van got a flat tire (like it popped as we were driving!) so our day was set behind a bit but it didn't stop us!

But as you can see we found a place! Peter"s Canyon. After the huge fires last year things are just getting green and beautiful!!
It's wonderful because i have been wanting to do a shoot in a field of flowers and now I'm on my way!

My mother wanted to work out as i took pictures so i just did my thing and got these...

So my mom had been running and told me the path to stay on as i was shooting, but like said i had been shooting and so i didn't catch the specific path i was suppose to stay on but i did figure out the ones to avoid! ( the led to huge hills! lol) So my mom found me in the middle of an area of flowers just walking and taking the same picture 5 different ways! lol.. needless to say i was glad she came back! :)

My mom is a natural! Thanks mom!

Yay for Class!!

So a couple (and when I say a couple i mean like 3-ish) weeks ago i got to go to the studio of the Galvan's located over in Whittier. They hosted a night of fun facts and demos on the wedding biz for a photo class I'm in. ( p.s. I'm taking 2 classes @ a local jc to hold my student loans off for a bit... really till i can get the dough to pay them!! this photo class is a perk and a reminder all at once... I have actually decided that it's a huge encouragement to me and lets me know how much I really know and things to look more into)

Anyways, i had a wonderful time meeting the Roman and Yevett and their son Miles!!! Him and I hit it off!!! we played cars and talked abotu the movie Cars and I dreamed of cleaning my car!!.... :) j/k but we had a ton of fun during the lecture and i volunteered to help with the lighting demo and good ol'Miles decided to work the camera with me!!

....."Here is one of the shots from the lighting demo. Miles fell in love with Ally and followed her around most of the night. He was more than happy to pose with her. Later, Miles said that Ally "had hair like Cinderella"...he is referring to her blonde hair, he loves blondes!"

Startin off cold(not ice)

Recently I have been realizing a lot about myseslf and my goals. If I want to get somewhere I can't just want it and hope it all turns out. Not saying I expect all things to just come to me naturally and be amazing at it but that when opportunities are given to me... not just do what i need to to get through it and get the job done. Not just to work really hard and get whatever out of it that that will give me. I need to exceed that.. i need to strive for knowledge of that subject and reach for the moon. I'm not really a new years resolution kind of person but this year i decided to set a challenge and a goal.

Self Dicipline. ( I can do it when it comes to limiting a meal at Chipotle or sleeping on my AMAZINGLY comf couch! so why no the gym or expanding my brain!)

Anyways, get better at it and push myself and be open to help from others. Believe in myself and be open to new and more amazing things

That is my deal.

Being consistant in writing or posting on something like this is a huge deal for me so this is something to challenge me in!
Not that anyone reads this but any encouragement or challenges are appreciated! :)

Tonight I had a great time with my roomie Amy as we baked cupecakes for our neighbors and landlord. Amy has this thing about baking and its kind of contagous! :) We have lived in our house now for about 2months and we havent met our neighbors yet!! We are bad!!
